Staying strong during a time in which it would have been easy to become emotionally overwhelmed, Bret Michaels' girlfriend Kristi Gibson was just the rock that her rock star beau needed.
Talking about Kristin's impact on the situation, Bret's guitarist pal Pete Evick told People magazine, "In most of our world, Bret's the hero, but in this situation, Kristi was the hero – she saved his life."
Saying that she's had practice in not becoming unnerved, Miss Gibson tells, "I'm used to being calm, because of the times when his blood sugar has gone low, and if I freak out, he freaks out."
While they still have yet to tie the knot, Bret and Kristi are the proud parents of two children, 9-year-old Raine and 5-year-old Jorja.
